Winter SQUASH ROUND ROBIN NIGHTS
Periodically we host a session of weekly round robin games . This is drop-in and therefore players will only be included in the round robin games on nights they attend. It is ideal for newer to intermediate players. Advanced players may prefer to hook up with the squash club directly.
Basic instruction will be available the first few weeks for those new to squash or dusting off their racket and looking to improve their skills.
Here is an outline of how the evenings will unfold:
-show up at the courts about 7:00pm and decide whether you need instruction or can start playing right away.
-if you want instruction, there will be somebody on Court 3 to go over the basics and help practice hitting balls until you're ready to play.-games will take place for up to 2 hours.
-if you're ready to play, then you write your name on the round robin matrix. Players play a short best of 3 match vs opponents on the matrix recording the final the score. If there are 16 players on the board, then each person can potentially play 15 other people, which is a lot of running.
-after about an hour and a half, most people will have had enough and start filtering up to the lounge/bar. After the last match we'll add up the scores and announce the winner for the night. Then it's time for socializing. The bar closes when the last person leaves.
